DURHAM – Joyce Mauldin Fife, age 76, left this earth to join her Savior in Heaven on Monday evening, March 15, 2010 at Duke University Hospital.
Born in Atlanta, GA on February 7, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Aubrie H. Mauldin and Bessie Gresham Mauldin. Joyce was a member of Grey Stone Baptist Church.
Joyce and her beloved husband Bob celebrated fifty-six years of marriage on March 5th. After moving from Atlanta in 1965 and living in many states, they moved to Durham in 1977. Joyce devoted her life to her family, her friends and to serving others. She touched many lives with her compassionate and sweet nature. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Fife is survived by her husband, Robert E. Fife, Sr. of Durham; daughters, Christine Luecking (Bob) of Titusville, FL; Patricia S. Fife of Durham; son, Robert E. Fife, Jr. of Durham; brothers, Jack Mauldin of Acworth, GA and Allen Mauldin of Oxford, GA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hall-Wynne Chapel, Durham, NC. Dr. Clay Waters will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
