Carolyn Graves Withers, 86, died March 13, 2010 at The Forest at Duke in Durham. A native of Toccoa, GA, she was the wife of Duke University Professor, Loren Ralph Withers who predeceased her.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Andrew Withers and wife, Brenda, of Raleigh; daughters, Patricia Withers of Durham; Janet Withers and life partner, Dr. Victoria Post, of Durham; sister, Anne Perry and husband, Malcolm, granddaughter, Emily Withers, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 PM on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at Maplewood Cemetery, Section 3. A memorial service will follow at 2:00PM Wednesday at Trinity Ave. Presbyterian Church, Durham.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Employee Appreciation Fund at The Forest at Duke, 2701 Pickett Rd., Durham, NC 27705.
The Withers family is under the care of Hall- Wynne Funeral Service.
